guess who got a new purse!?!

... THIS GIRL!

so long grungy old bag. we've made many sweet memories together over the last 5 years: 3 music festivals, 1 trip to morocco, 5 camping trips and countless repairs. at the request of my husband, poor bag has already been laid to rest:

 

yes, 5 years! i'm not a purse buyer (obviously). i remember moving a friend of wade's a few years ago and she had garbage bags (plural) of purses. i have had 1 ... well + a dressy clutch. so buying a new purse is a BIG STINKIN' DEAL. a big deal that took one threatening husband. "buy it by noon or else i will". 

and so i did. against our budget, i bought this abbey road hobo bag from lucky brand. i've had my eye on it for a looooong time. (like since july of last year.):

this week is the ultimate cray cray. i'm hosting a bridal shower saturday with my sister for our future sister-in-law angela. soooo much to get done. i am of course the biggest procrastinator in the world. can't wait to share all of the fun ideas + pictures ... next week! bear w/ me! xo.

wade's been hounding me to come up w/ a birthday wishlist (my birthday is just around the corner - aug. 4th). to tell you the truth ... though i'm always blogging about things that i love, there's very little that i actually need. and i always feel silly spending money if i don't need to. payback: his birthday is at the end of august and i expect a birthday wishlist as well (i don't expect this to be as difficult for him - though "1970s ford truck" and "rosetta stone arabic" are a little out of our price range.)

we once moved a friend of wade's and she had BAGS of bags - i mean like 6 large black garbage bags full of purses. i have um - maybe 4? maybe. however i've always wanted a leather bag. something nice, something real, something that can be used for years and years w/o going out of style. and maybe on clearance to make me not feel so bad about spending a little more $.

this "tabitha" cat minaudiere from judith lieber. marked down from $3,295.00 to $1,699.90 currently on rue la la ... this cat purse is a steal {cough}. the purse is made up of gold-tone metal and champagne swarovski austrian crystals w/ optional chain strap. oh hey - not a cat lover? judith lieber has also designed a dog and a bird. when all else fails - put a bird on it!

*** well dang. someone loves cat purses - they're sold out! sorry. :(
